When You Live On A Ranch...

This may not be on every ranch but it will give you a good taste of our little prairie life on the ranch.

When you live on a ranch...

your son pretends to haul manure in his tractor at the dining room table.

When you live on a ranch...

your nearest neighbor is 2 miles away.

When you live on a ranch...

you have a special connection to animals.

When you live on a ranch...

you can turn the lights out in the house and sit in the Milky Way from the deck.

When you live on a ranch...

bull riding is a family room event.

When you live on a ranch...

you pick up deer poop along with dog poop in the yard.

When you live on a ranch...

your main mode of transportation is an ATV.

When you live on a ranch...
you most likely have a Ziploc of calf nuts in your freezer.

When you live on a ranch...

you call a creek a "crik."

When you live on a ranch...

you check your mail only twice a week and it is a 30-minute round trip task.

When you live on a ranch...

you have a special appreciation of where your food comes from.

When you live on a ranch...

the local drive-thru is a liquor store.

When you live on a ranch...

you have a REALLY big back yard.

When you live on a ranch...

you crave culture.

When you live on a ranch...

you don't care if your kids are super dirty.

When you live on a ranch...

having "take out" means you "take" something "out" of the freezer and put it in the microwave.

When you live on a ranch...

you can always see wild animals out your window.

When you live on a ranch...

your kids wear cowboy boots with their pajamas.

When you live on a ranch...

you entertain yourself by dressing up your children.

When you live on a ranch...

the grocery store is 38 miles away. The mall is a 2 1/2 hour drive.

When you live on a ranch...

you try hard.

When you live on a ranch...

you are blessed by the Lord.

Great Blog today! You must have had some time today somewhere in between naps and showers to go through all your pictures.

Erin,
Great blog. I discoved the Pioneer Woman a couple months ago and love her. But I think that it will be way more fun to read a blog by someone I know! Actually, just a couple days ago I was telling Hans about the blogs I read and he was telling me how I should start one....not really sure about that. Anyways, keep up the good work, I'll be checking back often.
