I'm So Excited, And I Just Can't Hide It

This is a fun week. Not only is it the Cody Stampede Rodeo and all the other fun things that take place in our area for the week, it also happens to be the week of my 30th birthday. Tonight we're going to dinner and the PRCA rodeo. Tomorrow I will sleep in to recover from tonight's lateness. Thursday, (now this is where it gets really exciting), will be when my family rolls into town AND my birthday present to myself. "Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me, when you turn 30 give yourself a good present, Happy birthday to me."

What could a 30 year old rancher's wife, mother-of-a-soon-to-be-but-already-acting-like-it preschooler, kid's church teacher, girl's girl want for her birthday?

TO DANCE. But not just any dance. Not just a go to the smokey, smelly, meat-market, crude bar dance. Not just a few friends dance. A BIG DANCE. (Closely followed by another baby, a tummy tuck, a vacation to Greece, and another baby).

By God's grace last month I found a rental hall in Cody still unbooked for the 3rd of July. And not only was in not booked but it was affordable! So, we made a plan, a list, and invitations and in two days we'll be having a good ol' family friendly potluck and dance.

Did I tell you I am so excited?

I hope there is a good turn out. RSVPing didn't take place the way I had hoped so it is a good thing that this is a potluck! I am expecting at least 50 at this point but there is the potential for 100. (If you're reading this and haven't RSVP'd will you still call or email? : ) )

My birthday is on the 4th of July. Yes, I am a firecracker. But the 3rd is "the night" this week. On my actual birthday I will be sleeping in, enjoying a home cooked Eggs Florentine breakfast prepared by my lovely mommy, maybe playing some tennis, eating sushi and watching fireworks. That is if things go as tentatively planned.

So, after I regroup a bit and recover from the late nights and all of the excitement I should have some fun video and posts for you all to see The Prairie Daddy and I kick it up in a country swing...our favorite.

What are you doing for the holiday?

I love your idea for your birthday! Just last night I warned my husband that I want a BIG 30th birthday party. So now I'm watching your party plans and getting ideas for my own. :) Have a great time!!!
